(12-year plan not availalbe in CT) | | Withdrawal Provisions | After the first year, one withdrawal is allowed without penalty or MVA per contract year for up to 10% of the annuity value as of the previous contract anniversary. Withdrawal charges and MVA will apply to amounts in excess of the free amount allowed. (No MVA in MN, PA, OR, & WA)
Minimum withdrawal is $250 and the remaining annuity value must be $5,000. There is no minimum remaining value for a crediting strategy after a free withdrawal.
Systematic interest withdrawals, or any other amount designated by the owner, are allowed beginning 30 days after issue date. Interest only withdrawals can only come from the Fixed Interest Account. The minimum systematic withdrawal amount is $50. Annual systematic withdrawals exceeding the free withdrawal amounts will be subject to withdrawal charges and MVA.
There are a full range of Income Plan Options, including period certain, life contingent, and combination available at annuitization. The annuity value, without withdrawal charges or MVA, will be used if the annutization begins after the 5th year and is for the greater of (a) 5 years or (b) the remaining withdrawal charge term. Otherwise, the withdrawal value is applied (state variations exist).
No return-of-premium guarantee on withdrawal. Withdrawal value equals the annuity value, plus an applicable MVA, less any applicable withdrawal charge. Withdrawal value will never be less than 90% of premium, less prior withdrawals, accumulated at a 2% effective annual interest rate (or higher if required by some states).
Two Death Benefit choices are availalbe:
Withdrawal Value Death Benefit- equal to the withdrawal value without MVA; minimum death benefit is the premium paid less any prior partial withdrawals. Annuity value will be applied if the beneficiary elects to receive the death benefit as an annuitization of at least 5 years.
Annuity Value Death Benefit - (If selected, there is a 1% decrease in Premium Bonus) Full account value (annuity value) at death available as a lump sum. | | Index Provisions | Premium may be allocated among three interest crediting strategies. Amounts may be allocated to any combination of the three strategies, with no minimum requirement as to the amount allocated to any strategy. The index used for indexing strategies is the S&P 500 Composite Stock Index, excluding dividends. The strategies are:
1-Year Term Account: S&P 500 additive monthly with cap, annual ratchet & reset.
2-Year Term Account: S&P 500 point-to-point with cap, biennual ratchet & reset.
Fixed Interest Account, multi-year guarantee followed by annual reset.
Account values can be reallocated on each contract anniversary. Withdrawal charges and MVA are not assessed on reallocations. No portion of the current term interest is earned on withdrawals or death benefits during the current term.
1-Year Strategy: Interest is credited at the end of each one-year indexing term and the monthly cap is declared in advance for the one-year term of the strategy. The credited interest rate equals the sum of 12 monthly point-to-point index value change percentages (can be positive or negative), with each monthly change subject to the declared cap. The minimum annual credit interest rate is 0% and the maximum is the monthly cap multiplied by 12.
2-Year Strategy: Interest is credited at the end of each two-year indexing term and is subject to the declared cap which is declared in advance of each two-year term but can never be less than zero. Since funds can be allocated into this account annually, a contract may have up to two account value “buckets” in the 2-Year Strategy.
Fixed Interest Account: Initial credited interest is fixed for six years under the 9-Year Plan and nine years under the 12-Year Plan. Interest is credited daily. After the initial multi-year guarantee period ends, a new interest rate (subject to the minimum of 2% in most states) will be declared each year and guaranteed for the following 12 months.
